Intel has just unveiled the stigmatise describ for its superior graphics cards: Intel Arc. Not to embody confused with Intel Ark, where you go if you want to check out the different specs for its processors. We'll see the first contemporaries of these bran-new GPUs launch in Q1 2022 under the cypher name, Alchemist.

Formally the Intel DG2 separate art card, Alchemist is based on the Intel Xe HPG microarchitecture, with carrying out rumoured to be capable of taking aim at the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070. Wellspring, in terms of raw compute power, anyway.

We had hoped that Intel's first gambling GPU would be debut this year, simply it looks like we're leaving to have to wait a little longer to get our custody on the third means in PC artwork cards. Waiting for GPUs... how very 2021.

As well as showing polish off its spic-and-span trade name with some snazzy CG video, Intel has also announced the Discharge range will comprehend quaternary generations of graphics computer hardware, with Battlemage, Celestial, and Druid registered as the codification names for forthcoming generations of Intel gaming GPUs.

Intel's newsroom notes that the Intel Arc GPUs are all supported the Xe HPG design and that "Alchemist, the first generation of Intel Arc products, will feature ironware-based ray tracing and artificial intelligence-driven super sample, and offer sonorous support for DirectX 12 Ultimate."

In the short-change demonstrate swag at the death of Intel's TV introduction, information technology highlights the different features and techniques the new GPUs will fling. We've detected of its variable rate shading hold, and the fact it's referable possess hardware-based irradiatio tracing, simply the note about AI-supercharged super sampling is an unputdownable one.

That looks to be a different take on super sampling than AMD's FidelityFX Tiptop Resolution and something more cognate to Nvidia's Deep Learning Superior Sampling.

Hopefully we'll get more inside information about that in the upcoming weeks and months as we gird to the Q1 2022 launch of Intel's Alchemist GPUs.
